CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the management and technical support of a Family Planning (FP) and Post-Abortion Care (PAC) in Emergencies project in Nord Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo funded by SC-US.
Qualifications and experience :
- Qualified midwife-nurse or medical doctor, with field experience related to the program's approaches.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant field experience with an international humanitarian aid organization, preferably within the Central and/or East Africa context. Experience in Eastern DRC will be an asset
- Fluent English and French and good written communication and report writing skills in both languages.
- Creative and innovative approach to design and delivery of effective training interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage entire proposal development process from assessment and design to submission.
- Demonstrated success in providing hands-on training and technical assistance to health care providers and other stakeholders.
- Able and willing to travel and spend time to remote and insecure locations.
- Experience in leading/implementing BCC projects desirable.
