Main objective:
The Nutrition Project Coordinator will coordinate a WFP funded project for the community management of children and vulnerable women with moderate acute malnutrition, contributing in implementing it and collaborating with the various stakeholders in order to ensure programs and development access and appropriately report monitoring and improve the quality and access to health/nutrition services.
Reporting to:Technical Advisor/ Country Representative
Specific duties:
- To be responsible for the Nutrition activities related to the AVSI-WFP project in Katanga ( Community Management of Acute Malnutrition – CMAM)
- Carry out field visits as per need (field assessment, evaluations, reporting, etc.)
- Ensure regular update of the projects planning and tasks based on monitoring and reporting
- Keep good relationships with all relevant stakeholders like PRONANUT (Programme Nationale Nutrition), WFP, Local Authorities, UN Agencies and other NGO’s operating in the area.
- Train staff in accurate recording, compilation, analysis and reporting procedures; ensure accurate data collection and analysis
- Provide direction and mentoring to the AVSI Nutrition team in the development of plans and implementation of activities
- Represent AVSI RDC at district-level coordination meetings (Clusters, Working Groups) and share with the supervisors the main points of the discussions
- Participate in the design of future new project(s)
- Work in close collaboration with both locals Operations and Programmatic Units
Essential Requirement:
- Preferable academic studies in Development, Medicine, Public Health, Social Sciences; a Master on Humanitarian Studies or Demography an asset
- Previous working experience in Project Management (minimum 2 years), or managing Nutriton in Emergency (NiE) programs
- Good knowledges of Minimum Humanitarian Standards (SPHERE)
- Excellent knowledges of Ms. Excel/Access
- Fluent in French

- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Package
- Willingness to travel within the country
