Summary of Position

The Program Associate is a member of the support team for the CAR program and will support the main Office in Bangui and sub-Offices inside the country in addition to regional projects and expansion efforts. The Program Associate works with the country teams to produce proposals, reports, program literature, and other materials. In this function, the Program Associate supports program design, administration and monitoring, providing input and feedback to the country teams to better target proposals and capture results. The position is also responsible for supervising interns, as needed. The position holder will work closely with the Country Director, the Program Manager, field offices, and the Regional Office within Search for Common Ground. The position reports to the country Director SFCG CAR.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write project proposals and concept notes, based on programmatic ideas of the country programs and the Regional Office;
  • Work with Regional Program Manager, Country Program Manager and project coordinators to produce donor reports, ensuring results-oriented focus and quality reporting;
  • Support the coordination between the country team and the Regional team and support units, including the Institutional Learning Team;
  • Update and maintain content for CAR programs on the SFCG website;
  • Support the program team in report writing;
  • Support the team in translating document into English and/or French as required;
  • Provide general logistical support as required including support for trainings, special events and hospitality for international guests and staff;
  • Travel inside the country to provide support to field offices when needed;
  • Represent by delegation SFCG at events and meetings;
  • Maintain relationships with contacts from major donor and partners based in CAR.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences, conflict resolution, international development, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related field
  • Knowledge and/or experience in CAR is a plus
  • Native-level written and spoken English, with excellent writing skills
  • Experience in proposal writing and development
  • Ability to represent projects professionally to a variety of audiences
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel overseas
  • Flexibility and a sense of humor
