Finance Manager - DRC

The total salary package for this position is £42,384 - £45,972 per annum including basic salary, hardship allowance, programme management allowance and cost of living allowance**

About the DRC Programme:

Between 1996 and 2003, the Democratic Republic of Congo was the site of the most deadly conflict since World War Two, which led to as many as 5.4 million deaths and left the country contaminated by landmines and unexploded ordnance. MAG has been working in DRC since 2004 removing and destroying landmines and carrying out risk education work with communities, to raise awareness of the problems and promote safe behaviour. We are also the only non-governmental organisation accredited to carry out arms management and destruction initiatives in the country, which began in 2006.

About the role:

Reporting to the Country Director, the Finance Manager will be a member of the programmes’ Senior Management Team, and provide strategic and operational financial leadership to MAG in DRC, including control of expenditure, budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting and identification of financial liabilities.

The Finance Manager will be have strategic responsibilities in maintaining, developing and improving financial management systems including internal controls and budget forecasting. They will also be responsible for day to day financial management in the programme, including managing cashbooks, payroll and statutory payments.

About you:

You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.), or qualified by experience in a similar role, preferably within an international context within the African continent. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to report in a timely and accurate manner, the ability to work independently and build excellent working relationships with project stakeholders. You must have a professional working knowledge of both French and English.
